Holiday Line

I've been SO very slow in starting my holiday line this year. Since I'm getting more serious with my art (I'm going to be focusing on more of the licensing and line design side), I wanted this year's line to be spectacular. I wanted an idea so immense that it kept me up all night and made my brain hurt from all the inspiration flooding in. So, I've been sitting on the holiday line, biding my time, waiting for that all mighty powerful muse to whisper the sweet and soft (although sometimes urgent) ideas into my ear.

The wait is over. Last night, as I sat with my son, me with my hot cider and him with his marshmallows and hot chocolate.....it hit me! BAM...out of nowhere images invaded me and I sat there for a minute, staring into space. My son woke me up with..."what are you doing, mom?". I got up.....did a happy dance (one in which he delightfully was my partner) and threw my hands up in the air. Free at last, free at last, thank God Almighty.....I'm free at last.

The visions that came to me were of a sparkly world, one in which modern and retro style fell into place beside vintage eclectic reverie. A world where Santa can look just as I wish....a world that was precious and feminine. A world that the little girl inside me would've created long ago had I had the ability (or idea, lol).

Upon the ending of this post, I will close myself off in my mess of a studio and get to work. I should have something for you to see by tonight. I love this feeling....the nervous-ness and jitterbugs in my stomach.....the anticipation of beautiful things to come. Off I go to revel in it and create.

I can't wait to see what you have brewing!! My ideas hit me in very much the same way--when I am relaxing with my family and not thinking at all about art.

Thanks so much for the kind comments on my blog!

Warmly,
Susan
